This course trains qualified Divemaster/ Assistant Instructors to become SSI Open Water Instructors.

As a certified instructor you will be able to teach:

The Course consists of:

  • SSI Open Water Diver program

  • SSI Advanced Open Water Diver program

  • SSI Enriched Air Nitrox program

  • SSI Diver Stress & Rescue program

  • SSI Science of Diving

  • SSI Dive Guide/Divemaster

  • Academic sessions & Evaluations

  • Confined Water & Open Water sessions

  • Instructor Training course Final Exam

  • Instructor Evaluation

REQUIREMENTS

​

  • Minimum of 18 years old

  • Qualified SSI Divemaster or higher or equivalent

  • Qualified React Right or equivalent (CPR, First Aid and Oxygen administrator in the past 2 years)

  • Qualified SSI Enriched Air Nitrox diver or equivalent

  • React Right may be conduct in conjunction with the program but training hours do not count to the minimum required

  • Must provide proof of a minimum of 100 logged open water dives totaling 65 hours or more

  • Be an Open water diver or higher for at least 6 months prior to start the Instructor Training Course

  • MEDICAL FORM: It is important to know about any medical conditions you might have that might put you at risk underwater. Please carefully read the RSTC MEDICAL STATEMENT to make sure you are fit to dive. If you answer any of the questions YES, we require a doctor’s certificate that states you are medically fit to scuba dive.
